Master Architect, Daniel Libeskind on Corals at Keppel Bay and Reflections at Keppel Bay

Keppel appoints Daniel Libeskind for another residential showcase at Keppel Bay
Leveraging the iconic landmark status of Reflections at Keppel Bay, Keppel Corporation and Keppel Land have once again partnered master architect Daniel Libeskind for the plot 3 development at Keppel Bay. Located along the historic King’s Dock, the new development is envisioned to be a premium waterfront property comprising 367 homes.
Mr Augustine Tan, President (Singapore Residential) of Keppel Land, said, “Demand for world-class waterfront homes such as Reflections at Keppel Bay has been encouraging, especially from Asia. Despite the external economic challenges, there is still a worldwide trend favouring premier waterfront living. This is where our properties at Keppel Bay meet the taste and demands of discerning buyers and investors alike.”
“In keeping with our commitment to deliver only what is premier in waterfront and urban lifestyles, Keppel has brought together the finest names and brands in the industry to lend their signature quality to Keppel Bay.
“We are happy to once again partner Libeskind for the plot 3 development at Keppel Bay.”
Libeskind’s appointment follows the success of Reflections at Keppel Bay, of which about 88% of the 950 launched units have been sold as at end-February 2012, with an international spectrum of buyers. Tapping on strong leasing demand for luxury waterfront residences, 154 units have been set aside as corporate residences.
Featuring six glass towers and 11 low-rise villa blocks, Reflections at Keppel Bay comprises 1,129 luxurious homes along an extensive 750-m shoreline. The homes open up to commanding views of the bay, golf course, parks and Mount Faber. The development received temporary occupation permit in December 2011 and homeowners have started moving into their apartments.
On the completion of his first Asian residential showpiece, Reflections at Keppel Bay, Master architect Daniel Libeskind shared, “Turning a dream into a reality is always a thrill for an architect. Singapore is a paradigm of harmony of culture, nature and the built environment. I wanted to convey this while highlighting the spectacular beauty of the setting.
“Reflections at Keppel Bay is truly an expression of the wonderful collaboration with Keppel and exemplifies the ongoing and future success of Singapore.”
In designing Reflections at Keppel Bay, Libeskind artfully avoided the uniformity and feeling of congestion often found in residential developments. His design also deftly tackles the challenge faced by architects working in Singapore, where high-density construction is often the only way to recoup the high cost of real estate. By placing the low-rise villa blocks along the water and high-rise towers behind them, Libeskind creates an airy, light-filled grouping that feels exceptionally expansive.
Reflections at Keppel Bay joins Libeskind’s line-up of celebrated architectural icons including the Jewish Museum in Berlin and Denver Art Museum in the US. He is also the master planner for the World Trade Center site in New York.
Each Reflections at Keppel Bay home is finely created to meet the taste and quality expectations of discerning homeowners. All fittings and finishes are meticulously sourced to ensure premium quality – from the finest marble and splendid imported oak to leading designer ware under brand names such German brand Miele, Hansgrohe Axor, Duravit Starck and Kaldewei. Award-winning US-based landscape architect, Hargreaves Associates has also created a lush oasis within the expansive grounds in Reflections at Keppel Bay.
By night, Reflections at Keppel Bay stands out with lighting designed by Lighting Planner Associates, the renowned Japanese specialists also responsible for the light-up of Singapore’s city skyline and Orchard Road.
A true waterfront lifestyle awaits homeowners at Keppel Bay where exclusive amenities and facilities extend to the Marina at Keppel Bay on Keppel Island which include a clubhouse with a member’s lounge, fine restaurants and leisure charter services to access neighbouring islands.  All homeowners of Keppel Bay enjoy complimentary 10-year membership and five-year subscription at the Marina.
To commemorate the completion of the iconic development, the developers – Keppel Corporation and Keppel Land – have commissioned a 30-minute documentary entitled ‘Reflections on the waterfront’ which will premiere on Thursday, 29 March at 9.30pm on Channel NewsAsia. Encore telecasts are available on Friday, 30 March (at 10.30pm); Saturday, 31 March (at 3.30pm) and Monday, 2 April (at 5.30pm). Trace the journey of an impossible dream that has been transformed into reality.
